Kelly MacDonald is strong as Helen Radley. Bo Bragason is also strong as Clara Radley. Damien Lewis and the rest of the cast are pretty vague and don’t really have any presence. Casting is a huge mistake. The story of a family of vampires who no longer drink human blood. The problem is that there is no history. It’s more like a few days in the life of a boring vampire family. We wander from wall to wall and nothing really happens. There are permanent walls where people just look at each other or at the wall. Nothing happens, and no feelings are transmitted to us. People just stand or sit, doing nothing for a few seconds. None of the characters, except for Helen and Clara, have any personality at all. Possibly one of the worst characters I’ve seen in a long time is pseudo-hippie vampire leader Will, also played by Damien Lewis. The character is not very well developed, and Lewis’ second-rate acting skills cannot make anything of it. Therefore, we mostly have bad actors, bad casting, bad script, amateur videography and direction. Then we are told that this is not just a horror, but also a comedy. I just finished watching it, and to be honest, I can’t remember anything even remotely funny that happened during the entire show. It’s almost funny how bad the movie is, maybe that’s what they mean? Ultimately, the film makes no sense. There is no sense in this. This is nothing more than a documentary about boring middle-class vampires boringly going about their daily business. It was really tiring to watch, and when the end finally came and the long meaningless speech came to an end, I said, “Finally, thank God, it’s over.” I give him a 2 and I think that’s generous.
